Aix En Provence: France Civil Ceremony – Natalie & Jacky Pt. 1

I am so excited to introduce you to Natalie & Jacky. This past May, they got married in the south of France. But in true European tradition, before the wedding, the civil ceremony is held at town hall. This intimate gathering of family and friends is really the most precious time. Natalie and Jacky beamed at their family who had flown in from all over the world to witness their nuptials. (From Florida, Reunion, England, and all over France, these two have to most beautiful support system.) It was a pure joy to watch them get married. Tomorrow you’ll see their wedding ceremony but today, here’s a few highlights of their intimate civil ceremony in Aix En Provence.

Amy Emily is a Boston wedding photographer who is currently booking weddings for the 2018 season.  If you are interested in booking a (destination) wedding, feel free to email me here!

INTERNATIONAL WEDDING- Raphael and Tina (Part Four)

Tina had fallen in love with him but Raphael had not fallen for Tina. Raphael was nowhere near love. So Raphael said they were good friends and Tina could not be just friends. Tina decided the best course of action was to stop talking for at least a month. After some time, a good friend who had watched this friendship have its up and downs, Bianca said “why don’t you call Tina?” Raphael wrestled with this, would it be wise? They cut the friendship but Bianca encouraged him. He called around Christmas and they talked awhile. Raphael prayed. Three months of waiting and nothing really happened. He didn’t have feelings for Tina, she was just a good friend. Later a friend of his encouraged him to think about getting a girlfriend. He took his advice and asked another girl to date. Tina was crushed. What had happened and what in the world was wrong with this guy? In the end, that relationship ended after 7 months and Raphael admits it was foolish.

Then God intervened in his life. Finally Tina wrote in her diary, okay God, do whatever you want to do with Raphael that’s fine. That exact day, thousands of miles away from Germany, in the States, Raphael could not get thoughts of Tina out of his mind. The thoughts became intense and Raphael asked God, “What are you doing?” As he was working on an internship as an Event/Fundraising manager he went to visit his grandparents. Raphael’s grandparents had been happily married for 60 years so he asked his grandmother for advice. She told him, you have two options, date and marry her or don’t talk to her ever again. And grandma’s favorite last words, “pray about it.”

The day before Tina was to go on Holiday, Raphael Skyped her and he rambled during his IM-ing and ended up telling Tina they should do this. Completely confused Tina asked, “are you asking me to become your girlfriend?”  Raphael responded we should pray about it. Tina who had been praying for two years stated honestly she did not want to pray about it any longer. When Tina woke up the next morning she jumped on Skype to see in the conversation had happened. (This is totally a moment every girl would have!) Had God answered her prayers? Indeed, He had.

When Raphael came back to Germany, he asked her in person on the train. Will you date me? And now it’s their wedding day. Raphael gushes as he talks about Tina, she’s nice, creative, crazy and goofy. They think similarly. Soul mates!
